Sadie and Brooke

Sadie is two now and came for her little sister's 6 month session. She was well behaved and cooperative - even while we were getting Brooke's pictures done. Here are some of my favorites from their session:

Kaylee and Emma

Kaylee is now 4, and Emma is 2. They were both so much fun to work with, though they gave their mother quite a workout in trying to get the girls to work together for what we wanted to achieve. I think the results are fun too. Here are my favorites:

Jaime's maternity portraits

I think pregnant women are just so beautiful - and Jaime is no exception. I am delighted to get to document this special time. Below are some of my favorites from the session. We also took some of her facing a mirror, in which I will photoshop the reflection to be her holding her newborn - so that image will obviously come later. Enjoy these for now:

Roxy's 3 month portraits

This session took place xmas morning, so again, sorry that it has taken me this long to post some pictures for you to see. I started photographing this family when their son was a newborn, and you can see he is is not so little anymore. Roxy is their latest addition and is now 3 months old. She was actually born on my son's due date, so they're only two days apart which added to the fun in meeting her. Here are some of my favorites:

 

 

Caleb's 2 month portraits

This session took place before xmas but I haven't had time to post them until today. Sorry for the delay! I had the pleasure of photographing the parent's wedding a few years ago, and now they have a beautiful little boy. They were visiting family and came in for a session so I could meet their precious addition. We didn't get to do everything we wanted to, but we still got some sweet pictures. My Munchkin Turned 3 Months

You're probably surprised that I dont take as many pictures of my own child as I do others' kids .. but I was at least coordinated to take some while he was freshly three months! Here are my favorites:

Above is his 3 month picture with his daddy's hat, and below is him at 5 weeks with it.

And here is a composite of his feet with our wedding rings, at 5 days and again at 3 months. I hope to do something with his feet and rings at 6, 9 and 12 months also to finish the composite.

The Johnson Family

Believe it or not, the Johnson Family is the first time I have had twins in the studio. I am itching to get a set when they are still newborn, but it was still a fun challenge with ones a little over a year old. Madeline's 2 month portraits

A Beautiful Family

I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful family last Wednesday at the parents home. It was a gorgeous morning for it, though the breeze was blowing in the wrong direction. It was fun getting to meet more members of the family that I hadn't met yet. Hopefully they will enjoy these memorable pictures.

Ava's 9 months session

I had the pleasure of photographing Ava again last night for her 9 month session. She did great and we got a lot of good pictures. Here are my favorites:

Caitlyn's 1 year portraits

Caitlyn is so adorable.. I have really enjoyed photographing her over the past year. I had more favorites of her but not the time to sit and edit all of them, so here are just a few:

Garrett's 6 week baby portraits

This little cutie is six weeks old (well, was six weeks old when I took the pictures last thursday.) He wasn't smiling for us, but we still got some sweet pictures of him. Here is a selection from his album:

Rapier Family Portraits

All I knew going into this session was that they wanted pictures that were not the standard and typical portraits, they wanted things to be more creative. Hopefully I accomplished that for them. It was a dreary afternoon so the sun wasn't lighting up the colors and it got dark quickly. I liked a lot of the pictures, here are some of my favorites:

The Gere Family

This session also took place on the 7th... this family was a delight to work with. They hadn't really thought about what they wanted in particular so I hope I covered all the bases and that they are pleased with them. Here are a few of my favorites:

Katie's 6 month portraits

Katie's session was actually on the seventh but I'm still trying to catch up on all my sessions so I am late in posting these even though her album has been online a few days. And to be honest... so much happens in a week for a sleep-deprived mommy, I barely even remember doing the session! The pictures are cute though! So enjoy:

Eli's 1 year

Sweet Eli is one year now so I'll be able to put his baby panel together soon to show how he has changed and grown this past year. We got some 'sweet' pictures for his mommy and some 'big boy' pictures for his daddy. Here are some of my favorites from his session on the 3rd. Enjoy!

Grace

We actually did pictures for fall, halloween, christmas, and family all in the same session, but for the sake of time I wasn't able to edit all of them before even putting them online - so I am only posting my favorites of her in her christmas outfits. She's such a cutie!

My little man

Well, I wasn't coordinated enough to get Andrew's pictures at 4 weeks, but at one day shy of 5 weeks we got my new favorite picture:



These are cute too though :) Enjoy!

Presley's 1 year

Presley is so beautiful. She wont smile much for a camera even though she'll smile off-camera, but she has such a doll face that it really doesn't matter for the portraits. At the end of the session she got to have her cake. Her mom didn't expect her to do much with it as she wasn't interested in her cake at her party.. but she sure enjoyed it in my studio!! The last picture gives a glimpse of the mess I got to clean up! lol So cute!

Lilly

I'm a little late in posting these as this session was on the 15th and here it is the 24th already. Lilly is only 4 weeks old so there wasn't much she was willing to do. She still looks sweet though in what we did get from her. Here are some highlights:

Gordon Families

I guess most of these family members are from out of town as last Saturday was the only day we could get together for this session. It was cold and dreary, but I think we captured some decent memories for this family. Here are the highlights:

McKayla, Liberty, and Josie at the Park

Saturday was strangely cold but it didn't stop these girls from having a fun time at the park. They are always a pleasure to photograph because they play so well together and I feel like I'm just getting to document that wonderful part of childhood. Spencer

It may be due to my own mommy brain (lack of sleep), but I barely even remember doing this photoshoot a week ago. This is little Spencer for his 4 week old baby portraits. He is so adorable! These are my favorites from his session:

Baby Annaliese

This cutiepie was six weeks old when I had the opportunity to photograph her a week ago. Here are some of my favorites from her session... I absolutely LOVE the first one. If it were my baby, I'd put a big one on the wall of it - she looks so perfect! Maybe I'll try again with mine. That pose is hit or miss with a lot of babies, but they did a good job with Annaliese. I enjoyed the session - here are the highlights:

We had our baby!

After 17 hours of labor, we welcomed our baby boy into the world on Thursday September 17th at 2:13 in the afternoon. I made it all natural with no drugs or interventions. The Midwives of Vanderbilt were wonderful, as was our doula Jeannie Casey. My husband was the most amazing coach ever - a great support all the way and I dont think I could have done half as well as I did without him. He has also turned out to be a great dad - taking care of both of us as I heal the rest of the way.
Anyway, I delivered Andrew who weighed in at 8 pounds and 11 ounces (or 13 ounces according to another paper given to us) and was 20 3/4 inches long. He has blonde hair and blue/purple eyes, long feet and fingers. He's a doll for sure (although I prefer dolls who don't cry so much! lol )

Cooper at 8 weeks old

Little Cooper was due to make his presence into this world later this week - but arrived eight weeks early. He was only interested in sleeping and hated not having clothes. Big sister wanted nothing to do with him either so we didn't get as much done as we'd have hoped, but there are still some precious pictures to cherish forever. Here are some highlights from Monday's session:

Julia - 4 weeks old

Yesterday I got to meet this new baby girl. She was not happy about having her sleep interrupted, but her parents made a valiant effort in keeping her happy with her pacifier in between shots. I think they will be pleased with the overall outcome.. these are my favorites:

Luke's 6 month portrait session

I always think its humorous when parents tell me their baby is always happy and smiling, but then "Portrait Day" arrives and they tell me its been an awful day so far. Part of Murphys Law I suppose... but still, despite his being less than his usual happy self - we got some adorable pictures of him. His big sister did a great job too. These are my favorites from his session:

Brooke - 7 weeks old

Brooke turned 7 weeks old today. Yesterday we had her portrait session and she was far more interested in sleeping and being left alone than letting us move her around for pictures. Typical of that age... but overall, she did really well I think. These are my favorites:

Will's 3 month portraits

Jac's 1 year portrait session

Jac was a little bit of a challenge in that he only wanted to play with his soccer ball and baseball - but other than that, he and his family did wonderfully! I think we got some adorable pictures of him. Here are some of my favorites from Saturdays session:

Kaia

This sweet little baby girl is somewhere around 3 to 4 weeks old I think. She wasn't even due to be here yet and I've had the privilege of photographing her. I am blown away by how much hair she has! Anyway, I dont usually rig a studio in someone's home, but I attached a black backdrop to their mantle and used my camera flash for the 'studio' portraits. Then we went out to their backyard for some before we lost light Monday evening. Here are the highlights:

The Daugherty Families

On Saturday I had the privilege of photographing several families that came together for a family portrait session. We'd been having decently mild weather.. until Saturday, when it got hot and muggy rather quickly. We started early and stayed in the shade appreciating the light breeze - they all did a fantastic job. Everyone was so nice and pleasant too. I decided to turn the sampling of images into a short animoto video because I didnt know which ones to feature in the blog otherwise. So.. enjoy the short clip. Oh.. and I know the song doesn't really fit too well - the chorus line does.

My Maternity Pictures

I thought since I had makeup on yesterday, I'd go ahead and get my "formal" maternity pictures out of the way. I only wanted two.. the one of me with my husband, and the one of me by myself in the same lighting. But I decided to go ahead and try the drape thing too - boy! thats hard!! I'm so sorry to all my pregnant customers who have opted to do that - I think you all did a better job than me!
I may take others later just to have them (if i have the time), but I wanted to at least get the two favorites of mine done. I am officially due September 15th so I dont have much more time. In the picture of me with my husband - I'm actually taking the picture with my toes! I had the remote trigger on the floor so that both of my hands could be on my belly with his. The other two, however, I coached my husband to take and I think he did a good job. These are the only three I have so far:

Caitlyn's 10 month portraits

Caitlyn is so sweet and gentle. She's already been walking for a few weeks which I found rather impressive. The first thing she did when she arrived was come over and hug my belly when I was sitting on the floor. So cute! I just loved taking pictures of her. Here are some of my favorites from her session yesterday:

My dad

We dont have a lot of pictures of my parents, but the day that they brought me that old picture to restore, I also had the opportunity to take a couple of pictures of my dad. He is like most people - doesn't like to see pictures of himself - but this one was my favorite and I'm sharing it:

Jaden

I think Jaden is a beautiful little boy (although, at 7 months I told him he has beautiful eyes and he burst into tears.. lol). He just looks so sweet and precious in his dressy blue outfits on the white - I just love these:

Katie

Katie is such a beautiful baby girl - but she was not happy about having pictures made yesterday. She's still precious even though she didn't really even grin in her pictures. These are some of my favorites:

Jessica

I met this family when their oldest daughter was just a three-month old. Baby number 2, Jessica, is now six months old so we tried to get a few family shots and sibling shots. These are my favorites from the session:

Little Eli

Eli is so adorable. These are some of my favorites from his 9 month portraits session. Since its summer, his big brother got to come too which was nice. Anyway, enjoy!

Old Photo Restoration

This is a wedding picture of my great grandmother Asta Hansen Fleming. My relatives believe the wedding was in 1924 but we're not positive; it may have been earlier. But 1924 was the year they moved into their Estate that is still in my family. (the Estate was built in 1879 and is pretty cool!) She was born in Denmark and moved to the Virgin Islands at age ten. Her husband George Alexander Fleming was third generation Irish on St. Croix. Anyway... the wedding photo has been damaged. It had been in an oval frame, stuck to the glass, and then the glass broke and not all the pieces of glass would come off without further damaging the picture. So.. I took a picture of it, and have restored it for my family to enjoy. I am pretty pleased with the results.

Here I have added in the background to make it a full image instead of just oval, and then edited the coloring and contrast more.

Grace's 2 month session

This was a special session for Grace and her family because Grace's grandmother, aunt, and great-grandmother were also able to come. We were able to get a picture of the great-grandmother with her two daughters, and also a four generation picture with mommy and baby Grace. Very special! Of course we were able to get some precious ones of Grace too.. such a doll. Enjoy!

Mary Campbell

Sorry I have been MIA .. I took two weeks off because I had family come in from out of town and hosted my husband's family reunion here. But, I'm back in gear for any summer sessions.

Saturday I had the pleasure of meeting a new little girl. Mary Campbell is only 3 weeks old although she seemed more mature than that. The christening gown was an important image for this family as the gown itself has been worn for many generations.. it was very old and delicate. The rest are some sweet moments shared by the family... enjoy!

Brayden's six month portraits
